Scholarship Information

The El Dorado County Women's Farm Bureau 4-H Scholarship shall be awarded to a senior in high school who is an active 4-H member in El Dorado County.

The scholarship award shall be given upon receipt from the registrar of an approved college, or evidence of applicants' registration.

Scholarship Requirements

Application form shall consist of general application form from this site and the special application form available from the University of California Cooperative Extennsion office (4-H office) or at the University of California Extension Web site, http://ceeldorado.ucdavis.edu.

He or she shall be a senior in high school.

He or she shall be an active 4-H member in El Dorado County.

He or she shall have grades good enough for college entrance. He or she must maintain a minimum 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) to qualify for the scholarshp funds paid for the second semester. (Entrance in Junior College NOT acceptable if it is to make up grades.)

Applicant majoring in home economics or agriculture shall be given preference; however, other fields will be considered.

He or she shall present an original story on "What 4-H Means to Me".

He or she shall show leadership and achievement in 4-H as evidenced by Junior Leadership or by Club participation.

In case a senior 4-H member has kept up active project participation or leadership until his senior year, his active participation in Junior Leadership projects shall be accepted in lieu of other project participation. This shall be evaluated from his/her 4-H Record Book.

This application must be turned into the UCCE office by March 31.

Additional Processing and School Specific Information

No preference as to gender, race, or creed shall be shown.

Applicants should request that all recommendation letters, transcripts, forms, etc., be sent to their home in order that the Scholarship packet be complete when turned in to the UCCE office.
