Scholarship Information

The Norma Brubaker Scholarship was established by the Apple Hill Grower's Association in honor of Norma Brubaker, the first Secretary of the Association. The scholarship is funded by the Apple Hill Harvest Run, with matching funds provided by the Brubaker family.

The Norma Brubaker Scholarship is to assist students with books, tuition and other approved expenses to continue an educational activity beyond the 12th grade.

Scholarship Requirements

Plan to continue his/her education beyond the 12th grade in a vocational training or college program.

Demonstrate financial need.

Have a good character and strong desire to further his/her education, preferably in the agricultural field(optional).

Preference may be given to students who have worked at Apple Hill Ranches, but not necessarily.

Please include two letters of recommendation, only one of which can be from a faculty member.

Please include an unofficial transcript.

Please attach a personal essay (500 words or less) of your goals, achievements, and activities (not confined to your school environment). If you have worked at an Apple Hill Ranch, explain what you have learned from your work experience and how it will serve you in college and the future.

Additional Processing and School Specific Information

The two (2) scholarships of $1500 each will be awarded at Scholarship Night.

Applicants must be available for interview by selection panel, if it is required. Decision of the selection panel is final and will be revealed only upon announcement of the award.

Please complete the EDC-Scholarships.org General Application, print it out and return it with supporting documentation to your school's Career Center by March 2, 2010.
