Scholarship Information

This scholarship was established in memory of Brad Mirande, a former student who benefited greatly from the Vocational Industrial Arts program at El Dorado High School. The scholarship is awarded to one graduating senior industrial arts student.

Scholarship Requirements

Please submit a completed application

Must submit a student resume

Must submit two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a shop/vocational arts teacher, if possible.

Must submit a copy of student's current transcripts (unofficial copy)

Applicant must be planning on pursuing a career in some type of industrial arts area. Examples: welding, construction, mechanic, diesel mechanic, air conditioning or heating specialist etc.

Applicant must be of good character and have a strong desire for continuing to learn skills related to a vocational skill.

Applicant must submit a brief "Statement of Interest" (a personal account of why you are interested in the vocational arts field along with a statement of your goals and future plans.

Applicant must have a GPA of 2.0 or better.

The El Dorado Community Foundation administers the Brad Mirande Scholarship for the Mirande family. If you have any questions, please contact the Foundation's office at 530-622-5621, or your career guidance counselor.

Please return the completed application package to the Career Center of your respective high school.
