Information
The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) Academic Scholarship Program is an annual program administered by the BEF Scholarship Committee, under the direction and guidance of the BEF Board of Trustees.
The BEF Academic Scholarship Program is divided into two categories: Excellence in Education scholarship ($5,000 awarded over a two-year term)and Aiming for Higher Education scholarships (7 x $1,000 awarded annually). The objective of the BEF Academic Scholarship Program is to grant scholarships to high school seniors who have benefited from the sport of billiards and are pursuing a college education.

Requirements
Must possses a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Must possess one of the following two: ACT score of 23 or higher; or SAT score of 1050 or higher.
Must complete an essay of 500 words minimum (1,000 words maximum). Essay Topic: "Billiards touches the social, physical and mental needs of today's youth and allows students to apply new knowledge to life's challenges The sport has the ability to raise one's self-esteem and social skills as well as enhance the development of movement skills. Please expand on how billiards has touched your life."
Must be accepted to an accredited undergraduate academic program by June 1 and must carry at least 12 hours per semester.
Must complete BEF Academic Scholarship Application Form.
Letter of application. Each application form should be accompanied by a letter from the applicant, outling (1) academic achievements, leadership and/or community service work and (2) billiard experience (how billiards has been an integral part of his/her life). A description of the applicant's background and career objectives is also required. This letter should include the applicant's personal and professional (academic) goals, chosen discipline of study, and how this scholarship would be of assistance.
Submit an Official High School Transcript, SAT/ACT scores and head shot photograph.
